Please forgive me but this is going to be a very short post. I had a very busy weekend -- it was just too nice to stay indoors. Megan of
My Baking Adventures chose Double Dark Chocolate Cherry Cookies. Click
here to see the recipe on her blog. This cookies were super quick to put together. I assembled the dough early Sunday morning, before heading out and came back in the afternoon and threw them in the oven. I didnt do the roll & cut version like the recipe states. I scooped and baked.

I scooped out half the recipe to make a batch without the cherries (for the hubs) to see what they would taste like. I must say... with or without cherries, these cookies were awesome!

Hey! I did the scoop and bake method too - who wants to roll, wait, slice and bake? Especially when the weather's nice?
I'm glad you enjoyed these!
Your cookies turned out great. I like the dark color. Very chocolaty.
I'm so glad you enjoyed them! I was originally going to make half with cherries and half without but I got lazy and just left the cherries out of all of them. Yours look great!
Glad you got to enjoy the weekend! Gotta get it while the getting is good. The cookies look great.
Your cookies look great! I was thinking of doing the scoop and bake rather than cut and bake. Maybe next time.
Hope you got to enjoy the weekend! cookies look great
I probably would have scoop and baked as well, if i didn't run out of time after I prepared the dough! Good to know that I can bake right away next time and they'll still come out good!
Karen, your cookies look great too! Did your hubby try one with cherries? Mine stuck his nose up at the title of the cookie and when he thought no one was looking, he snuck a baked cookie with the tart cherries. I just happened to be coming around the opposite corner he was peaking around. I scared the bajeebees out of him and he admitted to liking the cookie. What we bakers go through =D
I'm with you about wanting to be out in the sunshine instead of the kitchen on the weekend!
@ Shandy: ROFL... nope, hubby wouldnt touch one with cherries. He's pretty picky when it comes to food!
This was a great weekend for a quick recipe and a quick post: I think the yumminess of double chocolate pretty much speaks for itself! I like the look of the scooped cookie.
Hi Karen!
I hope you had a nice weekend- I'm jealous you had such great weather... it's been rainy and gray for what feels like weeks now here in Boston. I'm glad you still had time to make the cookies- they look awesome! Good to know they work with the scooping method.
I'd love for you to stop by my site if you have a chance to take a look at my cookies too! Have a wonderful rest of your week and I hope to talk again after we make the next SMS recipe :)
